Dr. Ammar is a neurosurgeon specializing in spine surgery. Dr. Ammar handles a broad variety of back and neck cases from across Southeast Georgia and South Carolina. After graduation from the University of Florida College of Medicine, Dr. Ammar completed his internship and residency in Neurosurgery at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. He served as the Chief Resident in Neurosurgery from 2005-2006. Dr. Ammar then completed a fellowship in spinal surgery at the prestigious Cedars-Sinai Institute for Spinal Disorders in Los Angeles. A fellowship is the highest level of medical training in the United States. Dr. Ammar is a member of several professional organizations including the American Medical Association, Florida Medical Association and the Florida Medical Political Action Committee. He has co-authored several articles that have appeared in periodicals including The Journal of Neurosurgery.
